Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Farmer in Gaza; Five Others Die in Separate Attacks

An Israeli armored vehicle fatally shot a Palestinian farmer in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to medical sources in the Palestinian enclave. The victim was identified as Mohamad Fayeq Al Atar, a farmer, who was killed near Deir el-Balah.

This incident occurred amidst a series of Israeli attacks that claimed the lives of five other Palestinians on Friday. In the southern Gaza Strip, near Khan Yunis, a bombardment killed three members of the same family: Lafi Abedin, 42; Taysir Abedin, 28; and Abdel Hamid Abedin, 42, according to Al Naser hospital. Earlier, an Israeli army projectile struck a motorcycle in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, killing the rider, identified by hospital sources as Hasan Al Dairi.

A fifth Palestinian, Hani Al Mazlum, died from an Israeli bombardment north of Gaza City, confirmed medical sources at Al Shifa hospital. These attacks underscore the ongoing violence in the region despite a ceasefire that has been in place since October 2025.

Palestinian health ministry figures indicate that since the truce was signed ten months ago, Israeli forces have killed 1,313 people and wounded 4,361 in Gaza. Over the course of nearly three years of offensive operations in Gaza, Israeli troops have reportedly killed 73,449 people and injured 174,472 out of a population of approximately two million. The Israeli army often claims, frequently without providing evidence, that its attacks target Hamas members.
