ISTAF Urges Patience for Disciplinary Committee Investigation into Sepaktakraw Final Incident

The International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) has called for patience and space for its Disciplinary Committee to conduct a thorough investigation into an incident during the Sepaktakraw World Cup 2026 final between Thailand and Malaysia. The controversy arose from a walkover during the Regu Berpasukan event, which drew significant attention.

ISTAF Secretary General Datuk Abdul Halim Kader stated that the decision to refer the case to the Disciplinary Committee was unanimous, following a review of match officials' reports, technical officials' assessments, and related evidence. The investigation will encompass 12 athletes and three officials from the Thai delegation.

The federation reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining integrity, fairness, and justice in international sepaktakraw governance. Further decisions will be announced after the committee completes its proceedings.
