Istanbul Roads to Close for 14 Days for Yenikapı Events

Istanbul's traffic flow will be impacted as several key roads are set to close for a 14-day period due to scheduled events at the Yenikapı venue. The closures, implemented by the Istanbul Security Directorate, are part of preparations for programs taking place at the Fatih Yenikapı Event Area.

The affected roads include the service roads on the north and south sides of the coast leading to the Kadir Topbaş Show Center, the Vefa Karakurdu Overpass, and the internal service road within the Yenikapı Rally Area, between the rally site and Yenikapı İDO (Istanbul Fast Ferries). These sections will be closed daily from 12:00 p.m. until the end of the events.

The closures are scheduled to begin today, August 3, and will continue until August 10. Following a brief respite, the roads will be closed again from August 16. This phased closure aims to facilitate the events while managing traffic disruptions as effectively as possible.

Authorities have designated alternative routes for drivers. The coastal road and Kennedy Avenue will be available for use, providing essential access for commuters and residents navigating the city during the event periods. Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and utilize these alternative routes to minimize inconvenience.
