J. Augusto Saldívar prepares for 5th Strawberry Expo Fair

J. Augusto Saldívar, in Paraguay's Central Department, is preparing for its 5th Strawberry Expo Fair, scheduled for August 7-9. This traditional event, which began in 2021, serves as a vital platform for local strawberry producers and entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their goods. The fair is expected to host approximately 70 exhibitors offering a variety of strawberry products, artisanal crafts, and local gastronomy.

Eva Lorena Espinoza, Director of Culture for the Municipality, highlighted the current administration's support for the project, building on the initiative started by a previous mayor. The event aims to bolster local production and talent, providing a "beautiful spectacle" and promoting regional businesses. Beyond the commercial aspect, the fair will feature live entertainment, including dance and singing performances, designed for family enjoyment.

A special attraction this year is the "Miss Frutillita 2026" contest for girls aged 3 to 9. The winner will become an ambassador for the local culture and strawberry production. The pageant, scheduled for Sunday, August 9, seeks to strengthen local identity and support the district's producers and entrepreneurs. Previous editions have drawn around 3,000 visitors over the three days, indicating a growing interest in the fair.
