Taiwanese entertainer Jacky Wu, affectionately known as the "Master of Absurdity," has made a triumphant return to the public eye following his successful battle with leukemia. Wu, who is known for his high energy and boisterous personality, appeared at a press conference for World Acute Myeloid Leukemia Day, sharing his personal journey with the disease.

Wu recounted the sudden onset of his illness, noting that blood tests just two months prior had shown normal indicators. He described the anxiety he felt during hospitalization, particularly when his doctor warned about potential toxic side effects from medication. Despite his fears, Wu bravely encouraged the medical team to proceed with the treatment, stating, "Just add it! I'll take responsibility for any new toxicity!"

Demonstrating his commitment to raising awareness, Wu revealed that he is not accepting any payment for his role as an ambassador for the leukemia awareness campaign. This stands in stark contrast to his usual lucrative endorsement deals, which can fetch up to NT$3 million annually, and event appearances starting at NT$250,000. Instead, he humorously stated he would only accept a bottle of water, calling it a "virtuous cycle."
