Jakarta Agrarian Reform Committee Receives 3,401 Land Complaints in One Month

Jakarta’s agrarian reform committee received 3,401 public complaints about land issues in a single month, a volume that illustrates how many ownership and certification disputes remain unresolved in the capital.

Dwi Rio Sambodo, chairman of the Jakarta Regional Council’s Special Committee on Agrarian Reform and PTSL, said every complaint would serve as material for discussion and coordination with the National Land Agency, or BPN. The committee is working on solutions to residents’ reports, including land certificates that have not yet been completed.

One issue under discussion is the preparation and issuance of residual category-one PTSL certificates. The committee has also asked BPN to explain various problems raised through the public complaints post. “Public complaints are an important part of our follow-up,” Sambodo said.

The committee is examining the possibility of carrying out agrarian reform through land redistribution in Jakarta. Data from the Agrarian Reform Task Force identifies 28 potential redistribution sites in the first phase. The committee is also finalizing revisions to the composition of community figures represented in the task force.

Separately, officials are preparing to hand over 111 land certificates issued through the PTSL program. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Jakarta City Hall and is planned to be symbolically conducted by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. The committee says the process should go beyond handing over certificates and help speed up solutions to residents’ land problems.
