Jakarta Cafe Searched in Corruption Probe Involving Top Legal Figures

Police have searched Kafe de'Clan Signature in South Jakarta, an establishment owned by advocate Don Ritto, as part of an ongoing corruption investigation. The probe involves former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, and Ritto himself.

Don Ritto's lawyer, Handika Honggowoso, confirmed that the cafe belongs to his client. He explained that Ritto initially managed the restaurant, then named Gontran Cherrier, with businessman Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang. After the venture went bankrupt, Ritto took over, rebranded it as Kafe de'Clan Signature, and Hongkiriwang withdrew from the business.

When the partnership went bankrupt, everything was handed over to Don, Ferry withdrew.

During the search, investigators from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the National Police's Anti-Corruption Task Force seized tens of billions of rupiah from a safe within the cafe. However, Handika Honggowoso denies that these funds are linked to corrupt practices. He asserted that the money represents the proceeds of a business cooperation, though he declined to disclose the identity of the business partner involved.

The investigation also touches upon an incident reported by Tempo magazine in August 2025, involving Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang, a Densus 88 police officer, and an alleged kidnapping and assault. Police had initially planned to search the cafe following this incident but only executed the search on July 8, 2026, under heavy Brimob escort. The connection to Febrie Adriansyah is noted, but proof is pending documentary evidence.
