Jakarta Prepares Traffic Management for Thai Prime Minister's State Visit

Jakarta is preparing to manage traffic flow in its main thoroughfares during the state visit of Thailand's Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, on August 3-4, 2026. The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Polda Metro Jaya is implementing traffic engineering measures along key protocol roads.

Kompol Robby Hefados, Head of Operations Planning at Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, stated that these measures are crucial for the success of the state visit and serve as a gesture of respect. Traffic control and temporary arrangements will be in place specifically when the Prime Ministerial delegation's convoy is moving. "Traffic engineering will only be carried out when the state guest convoy is passing through," Hefados explained on Monday.

During his two-day visit, PM Charnvirakul will engage in several high-profile activities. On Monday, he was received by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the Thailand-Indonesia Business Forum. Furthermore, he will deliver a significant speech at the ASEAN Secretariat focusing on the "Future of ASEAN." This address is particularly relevant as Thailand is slated to assume the chairmanship of ASEAN in 2028, and the speech will outline Thailand's vision for a united, economically resilient, and people-centered ASEAN.

The specific routes affected by the traffic management include Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, and Jalan Trunojoyo.
