Jakarta Toll Gates Reopen After Protest-Related Closures

Traffic in Jakarta experienced temporary disruptions Friday morning as toll gates at Pejompongan and Slipi were closed due to a mass protest. The closures, which affected access to the Grogol direction, were implemented as a precautionary measure while demonstrators gathered on the arteri road.

Jasa Marga, the toll road operator, announced the temporary closure via its official X account at 6:53 AM WIB. The company also implemented situational traffic engineering, including temporary opening and closing of the Pejompongan KM 09+700 exit towards Grogol.

Motorists were advised to use alternative routes during the closure. Reports from detik.com indicated traffic congestion in other areas, including Cawang towards Tebet and Semanggi towards Pejompongan, due to heavy vehicle volume.

By 8:08 AM WIB, Jasa Marga reported that the situation had normalized and the toll gates were reopened. The contraflow traffic engineering on the Tol Dalam Kota, which had been suspended due to the protest, was also lifted.
