Aceh Utara Bupati Waives 100% Property Tax Debt for Flood Victims

Residents of Aceh Utara Regency impacted by recent flash floods and landslides will see their property tax debts completely waived, according to a new policy from the local government. This initiative offers a 100% exemption on property tax (PBB) debts.

The decision, announced by Aceh Utara Regent Ismail A Jalil, is intended as a gesture of empathy and a practical measure to help residents recover economically after the natural disasters in late November 2025. The waiver applies to property tax assessments up to Rp100,000, covering tax years from 2009 to 2025.

Several months ago, the Aceh Utara region was hit by floods, so the Regency government is providing a 100 percent waiver of urban and rural property taxes. This is a form of our concern so that the burden on the community becomes lighter and more people can fulfill their tax obligations.

Regent Jalil, known as 'Ayah Wa,' urged residents to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity, which runs from September 1 to September 30, 2026. He emphasized that the waiver aims to lighten the load on citizens and encourage them to fulfill their remaining tax obligations.

Beyond the tax relief, the Aceh Utara government is also promoting digital payments through QRIS, offering lucky draws for those who pay their property taxes using this method. The Regent stated that all tax revenues are reinvested into the region's development and post-disaster recovery efforts, reinforcing the idea that community contributions directly benefit Aceh Utara's progress.
