The win, sealed by Brandon Bent's dramatic goal in stoppage time, marks Jamaica's first tournament victory since 2022 and places them level with Canada atop the group standings after Canada's earlier 3-0 win over Panama.

Jamaica initially took the lead in the 21st minute when Jahmarie Nolan found the net with a shot from the right side of the Honduras penalty area that found its way past goalkeeper Alan Cury. The Reggae Boyz had an opportunity to extend their lead later in the first half, but Kimarly Scott failed to convert a one-on-one chance against Cury.

He skillfully shifted the ball to his left to create space before firing a shot over the diving Cury, securing the crucial win for Jamaica in the dying moments of the game.
