Jang Seo-hee returns to revenge genre, vows to 'recharge venom' for new role

"I wanted to act as a person with duality, someone who gaslights and is wicked, and the director offered me the role," she said. She added that while she previously played victims seeking revenge, this time she will be on the receiving end, which she finds appealing for a potential acting transformation. The compelling script also played a significant role in her decision.

Jang humorously remarked that she is currently "recharging her venom" as she feels her previous on-screen intensity has somewhat diminished. This statement drew laughter from attendees.

'The Trap of Desire' centers on a woman whose life is ruined by a false murder accusation. The story follows her journey as she confronts immense desires in a bid to restore her fate. The drama is particularly noteworthy as it marks Jang Seo-hee's return to KBS after a 12-year hiatus. She earned the moniker 'Queen of Daily Dramas' for her previous hit series like 'Mermaid Princess' and 'Temptation of Wife.' The drama is scheduled to premiere on October 10th at 7:50 PM.
