Japanese Boy Band WEST. Members Announce Marriages, One Welcomes Child

Japanese boy band WEST. surprised fans with a double marriage announcement on July 9. Members Daiki Shigeoka, 33, and Takahiro Hamada, 37, are both married.

Shigeoka revealed that his wife has given birth to their child, marking his entry into fatherhood. "This little life has overcome countless trials of fate and has been safely born," he shared in a statement. "This path is by no means a given, but very precious." He vowed to cherish life's preciousness and live each day peacefully.

While the identities of the wives were not disclosed, Shigeoka has been rumored to be in a long-term relationship with Japanese singer-songwriter Natsuko Kondo. Her departure from a radio show in March and subsequent retirement in July have fueled speculation. Hamada expressed his commitment to his work and fans, promising to continue improving.

With these announcements, over half of WEST.'s seven members are now married. Akiteru Kiriyama married in January 2025, followed by Tomohiro Kamiyama in October of the same year. The group's members are navigating personal milestones alongside their careers.
