Jaw Jian-ming's Admission About Nurse May Anger Taiwanese Women, Says Jaw Shaw-kong

Former politician Jaw Shaw-kong has weighed in on recent statements made by Jaw Jian-ming, the ex-husband of former President Chen Shui-bian's daughter, Chen Hsing-han. Jaw Jian-ming admitted to having had a crush on a female nurse at his orthopedic clinic but denied ever pursuing her.

Jaw Shaw-kong, who was formerly associated with the Ko Wen-je administration, expressed his view on social media that Jaw Jian-ming's response is likely to further anger Taiwanese women. He questioned the acceptability of a partner having romantic feelings for someone else, especially within a professional context like a clinic. "I think very few female friends can accept their partner having feelings for other women, right? Sharing the same bed but having different dreams, and it's a doctor-nurse relationship within the clinic. That's a family revolution for sure," Jaw Shaw-kong posted.

Jaw Jian-ming's admission came during discussions surrounding his divorce from Chen Hsing-han. He had previously been asked about his relationship with the nurse. His initial response reportedly downplayed the matter as "something from a long time ago." The subsequent admission of having a crush, coupled with his denial of pursuing her, has drawn criticism.

Jaw Shaw-kong also criticized Jaw Jian-ming's explanations concerning his three children and financial matters, including educational funds and clinic loans. He suggested that these explanations, combined with the comments about the nurse, demonstrate a lack of sensitivity and could reignite public controversy.
