JBL Launches Portable AI Microphone for Easy Karaoke

Audio brand JBL, under Harman International, has introduced the 'EasySing Mic Mini,' a portable microphone designed for on-the-go karaoke and vocal performances. Its standout feature is an artificial intelligence-powered 'vocal separation' function that effectively removes vocals from music, leaving just the instrumental track.

This allows users to transform any speaker or smartphone into a karaoke machine. The microphone itself boasts a compact, rectangular design measuring 33.6x61.2x24.3mm and weighing just 37g, making it highly portable. A circular button on the front controls AI vocal removal levels, while rotating it adjusts microphone volume. LED indicators show the current settings, changing color to reflect vocal removal percentage or volume level, enabling intuitive operation without needing an app.

The package includes a wireless dongle, a protective case, a magnetic clip, a ring handle, and a pouch. The dongle, measuring 52x40x16.5mm and weighing 25g, connects via USB Type-C or a 3.5mm AUX cable. The microphone and dongle communicate wirelessly using 2.4GHz, ensuring stable connections up to 20 meters away. The magnetic clip attaches easily to clothing, while the ring handle provides a comfortable grip for extended use.

Battery life for both the microphone and dongle is rated at up to 6 hours, sufficient for most gatherings but potentially requiring a recharge for longer events. The device supports Bluetooth 5.3 and is available only in black. Connection is straightforward: removing the mic from its case powers it on, and pairing with the dongle or via Bluetooth completes the setup. The AI vocal removal works in real-time, processing audio directly on the device, eliminating lag and ensuring a smooth singing experience across various music sources.
