JCC2026: Puerto Rico advances to men's basketball final aiming for gold

Puerto Rico continues its dominant run in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, securing its fourth consecutive win by defeating Belize 111-68. This decisive victory propels the team into the men's basketball final, where they will contend for the gold medal.

The Puerto Rican squad remains undefeated with an impeccable 4-0 record. They led Group B with a 3-0 record in the preliminary round and carried that momentum into the semifinal against Belize, who finished the preliminary round with a 2-2 record. Belize will now compete for the bronze medal.

Isaiah Brown led Puerto Rico's scoring with 23 points and seven rebounds. Six players reached double digits: Dwight Gaines added 17 points and four assists, Rognny Santiago scored 15, Elijah Espinosa contributed 12, Vincent Stewart Jr. had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Felipe Quiñones finished with 11 points and seven assists.

For Belize, Josiah Moseley was the top scorer with 20 points. Douglas Langford achieved a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Devin Moody added 10 points and five rebounds.
