Jhonny Tarqui wins Rally Concepción

Jhonny Tarqui took the overall victory at Rally Concepción after completing all 11 stages in 1:29:04.2 alongside Diego Startari. The Potosí driver also won the RC2 category in the third round of Bolivia’s National Rally Championship.

Tarqui began the first day in second place, 8.9 seconds behind Sebastián Franco. The rally changed on special stage eight, when Franco went off the road and damaged the front tensioner of his Citroën C3. The damage forced him to retire.

Tarqui moved into first place after Franco’s withdrawal and held the lead through the finish. Rafael Mendoza, accompanied by Humberto Roca, came second in 1:30:22.8. A young driver from Sucre completed the overall podium with a time of 1:33:30.6.

The event also awarded points toward the departmental championship and brought together 50 drivers over three days on roads in the Chiquitano municipality. Alan Torrez won RC2N, Raúl Chura took Proto, Franz Torrico won R2B and Joaquín Aramayo led R1B. Spain’s Óscar Fuentes won SXS Racing, while Francisco Vargas topped Open.

Kevin Hurtado won Bugguies 2,000, Eduardo Gonzales took Bugguies 1,600, Josué Vaca won ATV4, Wilson Cronembold led ATV2 and Lucio Antelo prevailed in 1,600 Libre. The national championship will conclude at Rally Capital in Chuquisaca from October 22 to 25.
