Jimmy Neesham returns to Janakpur Bolts for NPL 3

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham is set to return to the Janakpur Bolts for the upcoming third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The franchise announced Neesham's signing on social media Tuesday, marking his return to the team he helped lead to the inaugural NPL title in 2024.

During the first season, Neesham was a pivotal player for Janakpur, scoring 247 runs in nine matches with an impressive average of over 35 and a strike rate exceeding 196. His performance earned him the Best Strike Rate award for the tournament. He also contributed with the ball, taking seven wickets. Neesham quickly became a fan favorite, representing the team as a 'cap' player.

Janakpur CEO Niroj Khatiwada expressed his delight at Neesham's return, stating, "The hero who helped us become champions in the first season has returned home." He highlighted Neesham's loyalty and connection with the team, noting his special place among supporters.

In the second season, Neesham played for the Pokhara Avengers due to Janakpur not having a cap-player slot. He appeared in four matches for Pokhara, scoring 99 runs, including a half-century, and taking five wickets. For the current NPL season, Neesham will play for Janakpur Bolts under the Test-player quota. Neesham brings a wealth of international and franchise cricket experience, having represented New Zealand in numerous Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, and playing in various T20 leagues globally.
