John Stones joins Inter Milan on free transfer

England international John Stones has completed a move to Inter Milan, joining the Italian champions on a free transfer. The 32-year-old defender's decade-long tenure at Manchester City concluded at the end of last month when his contract expired.

Stones signed a two-year contract with Inter, as confirmed by a club statement. He recently represented England at the World Cup, earning his 94th international cap during the semi-final loss to Argentina. Throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium, Stones was a pivotal figure in Manchester City's successful era under Pep Guardiola, contributing to six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups, and a Champions League victory.

However, his final seasons with the club were increasingly affected by injuries, limiting his appearances. Last term, he managed only nine Premier League outings. Stones is expected to make his debut for Inter as they begin their league title defense against Monza at the San Siro on August 22.
