Johor Armada Accuses UMNO of Hypocrisy Over State Election Strategy

The Johor chapter of Armada, the youth wing of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), has accused UMNO of hypocrisy. They argue that UMNO's decision to contest the Johor state election solo, while maintaining political cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH) at the federal level, demonstrates a self-serving desire for power.

UMNO and BN want to compete solo in Johor but at the same time defend political relations with Pakatan Harapan at the federal level. UMNO's approach is seen as trying to underestimate the wisdom of the people of Johor.

Alias Rasman, the head of Johor Armada, stated that UMNO's approach underestimates the intelligence of Johor's voters. He suggested that UMNO and its ally, DAP, might form a coalition if they cannot form a government independently. This potential alliance, he claims, is a second strategy for BN Johor if needed.

The people of Johor, especially the younger generation, need to be aware and no longer be fooled by the narrative that this is just a 'state strategy'. UMNO will continue to maintain political cooperation with PH, including DAP, when they are unable to form a government alone later.

Armada Bersatu Johor expressed confidence that the state's voters are prepared to reject the UMNO-DAP government in the upcoming election. This statement comes after UMNO Vice-President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin reportedly said that BN's solo run in the Johor polls would not affect the unity government's cooperation at the federal level.
