Johor Declares Public Holiday to Celebrate JDT's Malaysia Cup Victory

Johor is celebrating a significant football achievement with a public holiday. The state government declared Monday a special holiday to honor the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club's triumph in the Malaysia Cup 2025/26.

The decision, announced by Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, received the consent of the Acting Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail. JDT secured the cup after defeating Kuching City FC 2-0 in the final match.

Ghazi praised the Crown Prince's leadership and commitment to elevating football in Johor, which has made JDT a source of pride globally. He attributed the meaningful victory to the players', coaches', and management's strong spirit and high-quality performance throughout the season.

"This victory is a gift to the people of Johor and the loyal JDT supporters who have always stood firmly behind the team through thick and thin in every match," Ghazi stated. He expressed hope that the team would continue its success in the future. The winning goals were scored by Guilherme De Paula and Arif Aiman Hanapi.
