Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo’s Health Improves After Emergency Procedure Prevents Heart Attack

Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo’s sudden dizziness led to an emergency hospital visit in Monterrey, where doctors found that one of his arteries was 90% blocked. The Mexican actor, comedian and producer said the timely intervention prevented a heart attack.

Ortiz de Pinedo experienced the symptoms during a family trip to visit his son and grandchildren in Nuevo León. After noticing an unusual feeling of dizziness, he went immediately to an emergency department. Medical tests revealed the severe blockage, and specialists consulted him about performing an emergency catheterization.

The procedure cleared the artery and moved him out of immediate danger. Doctors then prescribed an intensive cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program to stabilize his health and address earlier respiratory complications. The treatment required him to remain in Monterrey for eight continuous months under specialist supervision.

The performer said his condition has improved enough for him to spend short periods without supplemental oxygen when he visits Mexico City. His recovery follows false rumors of his death that circulated in previous months.

He has since returned to public life with the cast of Una familia de diez to present the show’s final season. The episodes, recorded last year, will air in the coming days and pay tribute to Eduardo Manzano, who died in late 2025. Ortiz de Pinedo rejected the idea of formal retirement and said he will remain active in theater, film, hosting and television.
