Juan Luis Guerra to perform "Canto a la Patria" at Santo Domingo 2026 Games closing ceremony

The closing ceremony of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo on August 8 will feature a special performance by renowned Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra. Guerra will present "Canto a la Patria," a song he composed and donated to the Dominican state in 2006, as a tribute to the nation and the over 900 individuals who contributed to the centennial ceremonies.

With a career spanning over four decades and numerous international accolades, Juan Luis Guerra is celebrated for promoting the Dominican Republic's culture worldwide. His performance is expected to make the closing ceremony a unique and memorable farewell to the Santo Domingo 2026 Games.

The closing ceremony will take place at the Arena Banreservas Virgilio Travieso Soto at 6:00 PM, marking the end of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games competitions. The organizing committee expressed deep gratitude for Guerra's gesture, promising a closing ceremony befitting the sixteen days of events.
