Jungkook tops X mentions, surpassing Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson

BTS member Jungkook has been recognized as the most mentioned singer on the X platform worldwide during the first seven months of 2026, accumulating over 2.6 million mentions.

World Music Awards released the rankings, which track singer mentions on X from January 1 to July 31, 2026. Jungkook secured the top spot, outperforming numerous music industry giants. Michael Jackson followed in second place with approximately 2.4 million mentions, while Drake ranked third with 2.1 million. Other notable artists on the list include Bad Bunny (fifth, 1.7 million mentions), Justin Bieber (sixth, 1.5 million), The Weeknd (eighth, 1.2 million), Bruno Mars (ninth, 1.1 million), and Harry Styles (tenth, 1 million).

Jungkook's impact on X was particularly evident following his performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 final. After his halftime show, he reportedly received over 800,000 mentions on the platform, establishing him as the most-mentioned solo artist in connection with the tournament.

His popularity extends beyond X, with significant engagement on Instagram and TikTok. Jungkook reportedly has seven Instagram posts each exceeding 1 million reposts, a record for an individual, with one post ranking second in Instagram history for reposts, just behind Lionel Messi's 2.6 million. On TikTok, the hashtag #jungkook has surpassed 400 billion global views, marking a first for a solo artist's tag.

These social media achievements coincide with BTS's strong performance with their fifth full album, 'Arirang,' which has remained on the UK Official Albums Chart for 20 consecutive weeks, reaching 43rd place in the week of August 7-13.
