Juventus Loan Newcastle’s Record Signing Nick Woltemade After Struggles in England

Nick Woltemade is leaving the Premier League after one difficult season, with Juventus offering the German forward a chance to restore the reputation that made him Newcastle United’s record signing.

Juventus confirmed on Wednesday that it had taken the 24-year-old on loan for the 2026/27 season. He will remain with the Italian club until June 30, 2027, adding another attacking option to the Bianconeri’s squad.

Woltemade rose to prominence at VfB Stuttgart after beginning his professional career with Werder Bremen and spending time on loan at SV Elversberg. In the 2024/25 season, he made 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists. He also helped Stuttgart win the German Cup and finished the tournament as its leading scorer with five goals.

That form attracted Newcastle, who signed him in the summer of 2025/26 for a reported 85 million euros, about 1.6 trillion Indonesian rupiah. The fee made Woltemade the most expensive player in Newcastle’s history.

His first campaign in England, however, fell short of expectations. He played 51 matches across competitions but scored only 11 goals and supplied five assists. Juventus now becomes the setting for Woltemade to re-establish himself as a dangerous young striker.
