Kaohsiung landslides block roads, crews work to restore access

Landslides in Tianliao District, Kaohsiung, have caused significant disruptions, blocking key access roads for local residents. The Neian and Wai'an roads in Nan'an Village were affected by the mudslides, cutting off passage for numerous households.

Emergency response teams were immediately deployed to clear the debris. The Wai'an road was successfully reopened by mid-morning, restoring access for over 20 households. Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to clear the Neian road, which was more severely impacted. This road serves more than 10 households and 30 residents, and authorities anticipate it will be passable by the evening.

Residents of the affected areas have been assured that all households are safe, despite the impassable roads. Local officials have been coordinating the rescue and clearance operations, ensuring that the necessary heavy machinery is on standby to expedite the process. The timely intervention aims to minimize the inconvenience caused to the residents and restore normal access as quickly as possible.
