Karol G donates $1 million to Colombia earthquake relief concert

Colombian superstar Karol G has donated $1 million to the "Voces por la Vida" (Voices for Life) charity concert in Bogotá. The event aims to support thousands of people impacted by the powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10.

Performing via a live stream from Los Angeles, Karol G appeared on a multi-level stage. She began her set with "Coleccionando Heridas" (Collecting Wounds). Addressing the approximately 40,000 attendees and viewers watching on television and digital platforms, the artist expressed her solidarity.

"From afar, but my heart is with you. We came to sing a little and share this space all together," Karol G said. She encouraged Colombians to continue donating to help those displaced and affected by the disaster. The singer also performed "Milagros" (Miracles) at the end of her set.

Karol G urged attendees and viewers to extend their solidarity beyond the concert. "I wish it wouldn't stay here, I wish it would be in the street, in a gesture of generosity with someone, in something we can do every day for someone else, for our community," she stated. She emphasized that Colombia is just beginning a long process of recovery and rebuilding, expressing deep affection for her homeland and its people, both within the country and abroad.
