Kast surveys storm-hit North Chico, emphasizes aid process

President José Antonio Kast is touring the North Chico region to oversee emergency operations and support for communities devastated by recent storms. His visit to Freirina in the Atacama region highlighted the critical need for cadastral information to ensure effective state aid distribution.

"It is necessary for people who have been affected to fill out the FIBE form, with trained personnel, as this is where the first aid comes from to help neighbors replace belongings and make minor repairs," Kast explained. He added that information gathering for major damage, including minor repairs and completely destroyed homes, would follow.

The president also acknowledged the widespread impact on the agricultural sector, leading to the declaration of an agricultural emergency. The fishing communities are also facing a complex situation, with initial reports indicating significant losses.
