Kaylee Hottle, the talented young actress who brought the deaf orphan Jia to life in "Godzilla vs. Kong" and "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," has died at the age of 19. Her promising career was cut short by a traffic accident in Frederick County, Maryland, on July 21, 2026.

Hottle, born May 1, 2007, was a fourth-generation deaf individual from her father's side and had Korean heritage from her mother. Growing up with American Sign Language (ASL), she possessed remarkable emotional depth and facial expressiveness, qualities that caught the attention of Hollywood.

Her presence on set was more than just acting; it was an opportunity to educate those around her. Hottle shared in an interview with The Daily Moth that a significant challenge during the filming of "Godzilla vs. Kong" was teaching sign language and the importance of facial expressions to cast and crew unfamiliar with the deaf community.
