Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agree to boost energy sector cooperation

Energy ministers from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan met in Astana to bolster bilateral cooperation within the energy sector. The discussions centered on key areas of interaction, particularly in the electric power industry and coordinated efforts in regional water and energy management.

Kyrgyzstan's Energy Minister Altynbek Rysbekov and his Kazakh counterpart Erlan Akkenzhenov addressed critical issues such as electricity supply and transit. They also focused on synchronizing the operating modes of their respective energy systems and continuing collaboration based on previously established agreements.

Kazakhstan expressed its readiness to maintain close cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, aiming to ensure the stable operation of their energy systems. This commitment underscores a shared goal of strengthening regional energy partnerships between the two Central Asian nations.
