Kazakhstan and Vietnam explore new joint film projects

Kazakhstan and Vietnam are poised to deepen their cultural and humanitarian ties, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in the film industry and creative tourism. This comes as the two nations elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership, creating a strong foundation for enhanced collaboration.

During the Days of Kazakh Culture in Vietnam, Kazakh officials proposed intensifying cooperation in filmmaking. Initiatives discussed include holding reciprocal film weeks, increasing participation in festivals, organizing joint film shoots in both countries, and implementing collaborative film projects. The aim is to leverage the creative industries of both nations.

Today, our countries are entering a new stage of cooperation. Last year, Kazakhstan-Vietnam relations were elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, creating strong opportunities to further deepen not only political and economic ties, but also cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Beyond cinema, the countries are exploring opportunities in creative tourism. This involves direct engagement with cultural environments through traditional crafts, local customs, cuisine, workshops, and creative programs. The development of comprehensive tourist routes that link cultural heritage sites, historic cities, museums, craft centers, festivals, and contemporary cultural spaces in both Kazakhstan and Vietnam was also identified as a promising area for joint work.

We see a number of promising areas for cooperation here, from cinema, performing arts and cultural tourism to heritage preservation, traditional crafts and contemporary design. I am confident that exchanging experience in these areas can give new momentum to our cooperation.
