Kazakhstan's IT services market achieved a historic milestone in 2025, with its total value soaring to over 2.9 trillion tenge, equivalent to US$5.6 billion. This figure represents a remarkable 70% surge compared to 2024 and a more than fourfold expansion since official statistics for the sector began in 2021.

The rapid growth is attributed to the increasing demand for digital technologies across various sectors of the Kazakh economy and the continuous expansion of the country's technology industry. Domestic clients were the main force behind this surge, comprising 86.7% of all IT services. Kazakh companies delivered services worth more than 2.5 trillion tenge (US$4.8 billion) to local customers, marking a 76.7% year-on-year increase. Both business and individual consumer demand saw significant rises.

International demand also contributed to the expansion, with Kazakh IT companies exporting services totaling 391.6 billion tenge (US$753 million), a 28.9% increase from the prior year. This international business constituted 13.3% of the total market value.

Almaty and Astana solidified their positions as Kazakhstan's leading technology centers, collectively dominating 92.2% of the IT services market. Almaty-based companies generated US$3.5 billion in IT services, nearly doubling their previous year's revenue and leading the sector's growth. Astana followed with US$1.7 billion, a 45.4% increase. Growth was observed in 16 of Kazakhstan's 20 regions, with Ulytau and Turkistan regions experiencing the most substantial expansion.
