Kediri City Government Earns 'Special' Recognition in Legal Reform Index

The city of Kediri in East Java, Indonesia, has achieved an exceptional score of 99.1 in the 2026 Legal Reform Index (IRH), earning the "Istimewa" (Special) predicate. This represents a significant improvement from its previous assessment.

Among them is the perfection of JDIH features which contain complete information regarding legal products, including the status of regulation enforcement.

Anita Puji Lestari, head of the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Regional Secretariat, attributed the success to enhancements in the Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH). She highlighted the improved JDIH features, which now provide comprehensive information on legal products, including their current status. This initiative aims to increase transparency and accuracy in legal information access for the public.

The IRH assessment considers four key indicators: regulatory harmonization, the competence of legislative drafters, the quality of deregulation and regulatory evaluation, and the management of JDIH. Kediri's achievement is seen as a testament to its efforts in meeting these evaluation criteria and improving the management of local legal documentation.
