Kelantan retains highest Malay reserve land in Peninsular Malaysia

Kelantan leads Peninsular Malaysia in Malay reserve land, with over 91% of its total land designated for this purpose. The state boasts 526,083.0796 hectares of Malay reserve land, covering 816,020 titles, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd. Nassuruddin Daud.

This significant portion of Malay reserve land is spread across all 11 districts. Gua Musang district holds the largest area at 122,735.5417 hectares. It is followed by Pasir Mas with 56,656.7894 hectares, Tanah Merah with 56,246.1290 hectares, and Kuala Krai with 53,473.8493 hectares.

While most districts have a high percentage of Malay reserve land, Tanah Merah stands out with 99.9982%. Tumpat, Pasir Puteh, Bachok, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, and Jeli also record rates exceeding 99%. The Menteri Besar clarified that there has been no reduction in Malay reserve land in Kelantan, as Section 13A of the Kelantan Malay Reserve Land Enactment permits non-Malay ownership within these reserves.
