Kemenag Opens 2026 Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit for Accelerated Degrees

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) is making significant strides in empowering graduates of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and religious education programs through the launch of the 2026 Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit (BIB) accelerated degree scholarship. This initiative, a testament to Kemenag's commitment to enhancing educational opportunities, allows eligible students to seamlessly transition from undergraduate to master's (S1 to S2) or master's to doctoral (S2 to S3) studies.

This program represents a crucial collaboration between Kemenag and the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP), underscoring a unified national effort to invest in high-caliber Muslim scholars. As stated by Ruchman Basori, Head of the Center for Religious Education and Religious Financing, the program specifically targets individuals with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements. The goal is to equip these bright minds with advanced knowledge and skills, enabling them to become influential figures in the development of Islamic scholarship and contribute meaningfully to addressing complex global issues.

The BIB 2026 offers two distinct pathways: the S1-S2 track, providing 36 months for undergraduate studies and 12 months for master's in Arabic Language and Literature; and the S2-S3 track, offering 18 months for master's and 36 months for doctoral studies in Islamic fields. This structured approach ensures comprehensive support for students pursuing specialized knowledge. Applicants are limited to one university and program, with detailed information available on the official Kemenag portal.

Successful candidates will receive an unconditional Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from partner universities and are expected to commence their studies in the odd semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. Kemenag envisions this program cultivating a new generation of Muslim intellectuals who are not only academically superior but also possess strong character, ready to tackle the evolving demands of the 21st century.
