Keyamo, Ganduje inspect upgraded Hajj Terminal, FAAN raises capacity

Nigeria's Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has significantly boosted the capacity of the Hajj Terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos following extensive renovations. The upgraded facility is now equipped to handle between 8,500 and 10,000 passengers during the peak Hajj season, a substantial increase from its previous state.

FAAN Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, alongside other officials including Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo and National Hajj Commission Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, inspected the newly renovated terminal. Kuku acknowledged that the terminal had fallen into disrepair over the years, no longer meeting the demands of modern air travel, particularly for the significant number of pilgrims undertaking the Hajj.

The upgrade aims to streamline the processing of passengers during the Hajj, ensuring a more efficient and comfortable experience. This development reflects a broader effort to modernize Nigeria's aviation infrastructure and improve services for international travelers, especially those participating in religious pilgrimages.
