Khareef Dhofar Visitors Surpass 881,000 by Mid-August 2026

The number of visitors to Oman’s Khareef Dhofar monsoon season reached 881,424 by August 15, according to preliminary estimates from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

The figure represents a 6.6% increase over the same period in 2025, when 827,115 visitors were recorded. Omani visitors formed the largest group, with 639,360 people, or 72.5% of the total, compared with 591,577 a year earlier.

Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council countries rose to 156,216 from 143,431. The number of visitors from other nationalities fell to 85,848, compared with 92,107 during the corresponding period last year.

Air arrivals increased 13.6% to 212,562, up from 187,153. Land border crossings accounted for 668,862 visitors, compared with 639,962 in the same period of 2025.

July recorded the highest monthly total, with 451,355 visitors, compared with 421,506 in July 2025. The season drew 21,094 visitors between June 21 and June 30, followed by 408,975 from August 1 to August 15. The first half of August accounted for 46.4% of all visitors recorded since the season began.
