Kim Ha-seong out of starting lineup for 3rd straight game as Atlanta loses 5-8

Kim Ha-seong, an Atlanta Braves player, has been benched for three consecutive games. He was not in the starting lineup for the game against the New York Mets on August 10th (Korean time) at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kim, who played as a pinch runner in the 10th inning of the previous day's game against the New York Yankees and scored the winning run in his team's 2-1 victory, was unable to play on this day until the end of the game. This marks his third consecutive start exclusion since being replaced after going hitless in two at-bats during the August 8th game against the Yankees.

Since returning to the major leagues on August 5th after recovering from a right middle finger inflammation, Kim has struggled to overcome his batting slump, which began early in the season. His batting average for the season is a mere 0.067 (5 hits in 75 at-bats).

Without Kim in the lineup, Atlanta lost to the Mets 5-8, ending their winning streak. Atlanta conceded five runs in the first inning, including a grand slam to Brett Baty. In the bottom of the fifth, a wild pitch allowed them to close the gap to two runs. However, the Mets extended their lead in the top of the ninth with a sacrifice fly from Jared Young with the bases loaded. Atlanta could not mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth and lost the game.

Atlanta, with a season record of 71 wins and 48 losses, maintains its lead in the National League East division.
