OK Financial Group Hosts Rugby Academy for Middle School Players

The OK Financial Group's rugby team is holding its third "OK Eoull Man Rugby Academy - Are You Ready to Meet Real Rugby?" camp from August 15-17 at the Incheon Hana Global Campus. This initiative aims to foster the development of middle school rugby players across South Korea.

Since last year, the academy has focused on enhancing players' basic skills, character, and leadership. This year's camp, following a session in January, invites middle school rugby players and coaches nationwide. The program includes practical training in essential rugby skills such as passing, kicking, tackling, and contact. It also features systematic instruction on rugby rules by invited referees and specialized lectures on injury prevention and nutrition by professional trainers.

Beyond technical skills, the academy incorporates activities designed to cultivate character and teamwork. These include writing thank-you letters to parents, Q&A sessions with current OK Eoull Man rugby players, and a special lecture titled "AI Era, Are You Ready to Meet Real Rugby?" by former Korea Rugby Union Vice Chairman Choi Jae-seop. These elements are intended to foster players' integrity, cooperative spirit, and communication abilities.

The camp culminates in the "OK Rugby Festival," featuring various mini-games and competitions. These include mini-rugby for third-graders, tag rugby for first and second-graders, team passing challenges, rugby ball dribbling, perfect pass drills, and air tackle contests. This festival format provides a fun and engaging way for participants to apply what they have learned.

Choi Yoon, Chairman of OK Financial Group, expressed his commitment to supporting these aspiring young athletes. "We have opened a special learning ground for the future roots of Korean rugby," he stated. "We will help these future leaders of Korean rugby understand the true value of the sport and allow them to freely play on the field without worrying about injuries, under systematic coaching."
