Kim Min-seok Wins Democratic Party Leadership Vote in Jeju and Incheon

Kim Min-seok has emerged victorious in the Democratic Party's leadership race, winning key party member votes in both Jeju and Incheon. The results, announced on August 8, 2026, position Kim as the leading candidate for the party's top position.

During the party's regular convention and rotating primary elections for party leader and supreme council members held at the Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon, Kim Min-seok presented his platform. The vote count revealed Kim secured 47.75% of the party member votes. He was followed by Jung (42.08%) and Song (10.17%), indicating a clear mandate for Kim's leadership.

The elections also determined the composition of the party's Supreme Council. Park Sun-won, Choi Min-hee, Seo Mi-hwa, Han Min-soo, and Kim Yong were elected to these influential positions, rounding out the party's new leadership team.
