The Pope stressed the importance of global cooperation, stating, "No one can shoulder the weight of the challenges facing the world alone. We need each other and must work together in harmony."

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to President Trump, recalling "numerous glorious chapters" in bilateral history. He noted that Russia, then under the Tsars, supported the North American colonists and highlighted their alliance in both World Wars and their role in shaping the modern world order.
