KLa Project and Jikustik Deliver Memorable Climax to Prambanan Jazz Festival 2026

The Prambanan Jazz Festival 2026 concluded with a nostalgic and magical evening, headlined by two legendary bands from Yogyakarta: KLa Project and Jikustik. Both groups delivered memorable performances, drawing large crowds to the festival grounds set against the backdrop of the Prambanan Temple.

KLa Project, formed in 1988, took the stage with their signature progressive rock sound. Lead singer Katon Bagaskara engaged the audience, expressing gratitude for their continued support. The band performed a selection of their well-loved songs, including "Hey," "Menjemput Impian," and "Tentang Kita." A highlight of their set was the rendition of "Yogyakarta," which featured an unexpected and enchanting collaboration with a sinden and a gamelan ensemble, adding a unique cultural dimension to the performance.

Earlier in the day, Jikustik, a band with a 30-year legacy, entertained the audience with their heartfelt music. The performance was particularly special as it marked the return of former vocalist Pongki Barata. The band played hits from their early 2000s albums, such as "Maaf" and "Seribu Tahun Lamanya." Barata shared anecdotes, joking about the band's longevity and the significance of their reunion on stage, emphasizing the band's enduring appeal and connection with their fans.
