KPK Addresses Febrie Adriansyah Not Wearing Detainee Vest

Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has responded to questions regarding former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, not wearing a detainee vest upon his arrival at the KPK's detention center. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the explanation for this matter had already been provided by the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung).

"The explanation regarding that matter was already given at the Attorney General's Office," Prasetyo said. He further clarified that the detention of suspect FA, including the decision to place him in the KPK's detention center, falls under the authority of the investigators from the Attorney General's Office. The KPK's role is limited to providing the detention facility.

Regarding the location of future examinations, Prasetyo indicated that this would also be determined by the investigators. "For the examination, it is entirely the authority of the investigators. So, technically, the investigators will consider where the examination will take place," he explained.

Previously, Febrie Adriansyah appeared at the KPK's Red and White Building detention center without a detainee vest after being named a suspect in a money laundering case by the Attorney General's Office. He had been summoned and examined as a witness. Adriansyah denied that the absence of the vest was intentional. The Head of the Special Crimes Investigation Unit (Jampidsus) and Coordinator of Team 9, Rudi Margono, apologized for the oversight, attributing it to the haste and late hour of the proceedings.
