KPK Investigates New Cases, Questions Bengkulu City PUPR Head and DPRD Member

Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is intensifying its investigation into alleged bribery linked to projects in Rejang Lebong and other parts of Bengkulu province. The commission has questioned the Head of the Bengkulu City Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR), Noprisman, as part of the ongoing probe into corruption charges.

The investigation focuses on projects within the PUPR agency, including those related to waste management. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators are examining the projects and potential illicit dealings. A member of the Bengkulu City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Vinna Ledy Anggraheni, was also summoned for questioning, though details of her examination remain undisclosed.

This case stems from an earlier investigation into alleged bribery concerning 'ijon' project deals in Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu, for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari, is among the suspects in that related case. The KPK is now exploring alleged corruption involving state officials in Bengkulu City, potentially connected to private sector involvement in the Rejang Lebong corruption scheme.

Investigators have conducted a series of searches to gather evidence, including the home of the PUPR agency head. During this search, KPK investigators discovered and confiscated Rp4 billion (approximately $260,000) in cash. The KPK is proceeding with this investigation under a general investigation order, with suspects to be identified and named as the process unfolds.
