Kristian Kullamäe Takes on Exciting Romanian and Strong EuroLeague Challenge

Estonian national basketball team point guard Kristian Kullamäe is embarking on a new challenge in Romania, signing with the dominant Cluj-Napoca club. This team has established a formidable reputation, having secured the Romanian league title for the past six consecutive seasons. Their success extends beyond domestic competition, as they also triumphed in the national cup last season and participated in both the Adriatic League and the EuroCup, reaching the quarterfinals of the latter.

Cluj-Napoca's head coach, Mihai Silvăşan, expressed his confidence in Kullamäe, describing him as a smart player capable of operating as both a point guard and a shooting guard. Silvăşan highlighted Kullamäe's excellent long-range shooting and noted that he is still a young player with significant potential for development. "He is primarily a player who knows how to play. He is a smart basketball player who can be used as both a point guard and a shooting guard. He has a very good long-range shot, I know him well, I have followed him in recent years and he is still a young player who can develop a lot," Silvăşan stated.

Kullamäe becomes the eighth new addition to Cluj-Napoca's roster for the upcoming season. He joins other recent signings including Bobe Nicolescu, Otis Livingston II, Jalyn McCreary, Dušan Beslaći, Malcolm Hill, Javon Bess, and Uroš Plavšić. Last season, Kullamäe played in Lithuania for Lietkabelis, where he finished fourth in the domestic league and ranked fifth among the league's top scorers, averaging 16 points per game. His move to Romania signifies a step up in competition, with Cluj-Napoca competing in strong European leagues.
