KT Wiz rout LG Twins 16-4 to maintain league lead; KIA Tigers rise to third

The KT Wiz solidified their position atop the KBO league with a resounding 16-4 victory against the LG Twins on Tuesday. The game, which saw KT's offense explode in the later innings, featured a significant comeback after trailing early.

LG initially led 3-1 after a two-run homer from Moon Bo-kyung and Oh Ji-hwan in the fourth inning. However, the KT offense ignited in the seventh inning. After loading the bases with walks, pinch hitter Kim Min-hyuk delivered a bases-clearing double, giving KT a 5-3 lead. The team continued to pile on runs, with Ryu Hyun-in and Lee Jung-beom contributing hits to extend the lead. KT’s offense continued its barrage in the eighth and ninth innings, securing their commanding win.

With this victory, KT Wiz improved their season record to 63 wins, 2 draws, and 41 losses, maintaining their first-place standing. LG Twins, unable to extend their winning streak, dropped to fourth place after the KIA Tigers' win. KIA Tigers, currently on a five-game winning streak, defeated the Hanwha Eagles 10-6, moving up to third place in the league. Meanwhile, the NC Dinos ended their three-game losing streak with a dramatic walk-off win against the Doosan Bears, and the Lotte Giants extended their winning streak to four games.
