Kuwait Awaits Approval for New Water and Electricity Projects

Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy is poised to advance several key infrastructure projects, pending final approval from the State Audit Bureau (SAB). The ministry is awaiting the SAB's green light on nine contracts aimed at developing and maintaining the nation's water and electricity networks.

These contracts have already received the go-ahead from the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT), which confirmed that the selected bidders meet all technical specifications. Following CAPT's approval, the ministry will submit the contracts to the SAB for pre-audit, audit, and review processes to ensure the integrity of each project phase, from tendering to final awarding.

Among the significant contracts is one valued at KD2.156 million for the maintenance of high-voltage lines in the first district. Additionally, the ministry plans to procure metering connections for the overhead line distribution network. A major undertaking includes the construction of a new water pumping station and associated facilities in Al-Na'ayem, a project designed to bolster potable water supply and meet the increasing demand in newly developing areas. This initiative aligns with the ministry's broader goals to enhance the investment environment and create value-added opportunities for both local and foreign investors.
