CAPT nods MPW request to build new PAFN head office

Kuwait's Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has approved a request from the Ministry of Public Works to float a tender for the study, design, and supervision of constructing a new headquarters for the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN). The tender deadline for interested companies is set for August 30. This project aims to provide a modern work environment built to the highest technical and engineering standards, featuring environmentally friendly buildings designed to house around 1,750 employees.

The planned headquarters will include a building for the Inspection Department in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, a theater, a library, facilities for sports and activities, a mosque, storage areas, a sample refrigeration unit, a mobile vehicle inspection zone, and parking for 1,750 vehicles. The study, design, and supervision phase is expected to take 24 months, after which a separate tender will be issued for the project's implementation, anticipated to last 39 months.

In parallel, the Ministry of Public Works announced that significant road maintenance operations are underway. These works are being carried out under new maintenance contracts at 42 locations across Kuwait's six governorates, along with eight sites on major highways, from August 1 to August 5. Specific locations for these maintenance efforts were detailed across Ahmadi, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Hawally, Farwaniya, Capital, and Jahra governorates.
