Kuwait inks contract for northern Kabd wastewater treatment plant with China

Kuwait has signed a significant contract with China for the development of the Northern Kabd Wastewater Treatment Plant and its associated infrastructure. The agreement, which covers construction, operation, and maintenance, was signed under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Dr. Noura Mohammad Al-Mashaan, Kuwait's Minister of Public Works, signed the contract on behalf of the country, with Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin also in attendance. This collaboration represents Kuwait's second major cooperation agreement with China in the wastewater treatment sector.

The project underscores Kuwait's strategic commitment to improving its national infrastructure. It aligns with the country's goals for enhancing environmental sustainability, boosting the efficiency of its wastewater treatment systems, and supporting urban growth in line with sustainable development objectives and Kuwait's long-term development vision.

The signing ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and the Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah, highlighting the project's national importance.
