Kuwaiti bowlers strike gold at Asian Youth Championship

Kuwait's bowling delegation celebrated a triumphant performance at the Asian Youth Bowling Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The team secured a commendable haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals, marking a significant achievement for the sport in the country.

Sharifa Iskandar emerged as a standout performer, leading Kuwait's medal count. She clinched the gold medal in the prestigious Masters event and added a silver medal in the singles competition, showcasing her exceptional skill and determination. Kuwait also secured a bronze medal in the youth doubles event, with Hussein Qasim and Fahad Al-Saqabi demonstrating strong teamwork.

The results reflected the progress made through greater attention to youth development and a clear strategy aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s presence at Asian and international competitions.

Sheikh Talal Mohammed Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait and International Bowling Federation, lauded the team's success, attributing it to sustained efforts in developing the sport and nurturing young talent. He highlighted that the results reflect the progress made through increased focus on youth development and a strategic vision aimed at bolstering Kuwait's standing in Asian and international competitions.

Sheikh Talal Mohammed commended the bowlers for their dedication and commitment. He also extended congratulations to the technical and administrative staff, as well as the athletes' families, for their unwavering support throughout the championship. He acknowledged the high level of competition and expressed gratitude to all contributors, especially the Public Authority for Sports, for their continuous support in advancing bowling in Kuwait. The federation president expressed hope for continued achievements from Kuwait's young bowlers on the global stage.
